Dog Litter - Shore Road & Fintra Beach

The Killybegs Community Council have been receiving numerous complaints regarding the dog fouling on the Shore Road and on Fintra Beach.  We are all aware Fintra has a blue flag status - we want to keep this.  Please do not allow dogs to foul on the beach, apart from being a serious health issue for Children playing, it is an offence. 


The shore road is the nicest walk in the County, and is very popular with people from surrounding towns also, the Dog litter is becoming a big issue, we are even getting complaints from students who use this walk.

The litter warden has been contacted, the Gardai have been notified and signs are now in place, there is an on the spot fine of €150.00 if the owner does not clean-up after their dog, and there is a maximum penalty of €3000 & a court appearance.
